webfact
Oxford picks Thailand as production base for Covid-19 vaccine By The Nation Oxford has chosen Thailand as a production base to deliver the Covid-19 vaccine to the Asean market. On Sunday, deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul said that the government had arranged a credit line from the Bt1 trillion allocated for public health. Approximately Bt40 billion has been allocated in the 2021 fiscal budget to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic, including the procurement and production of vaccines. Recently, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul signed a letter of intent for the production and allocation of a research vaccine against Covid-19 with the University of Oxford. The vaccine developed by the university will use Thailand as a production base for the Asean region. "The vaccine production of Oxford University is in constant development and has made great progress, with human tests being conducted," said Traisuree. Thailand health officials and Oxford will use Siam Bioscience Co Ltd factory for manufacturing the vaccine in cooperation with corporate giant SCG. Siam Bioscience and Oxford University have a long-standing partnership in research and innovation. It's just not realistic/aligned that Oxford/AstraZenica take up some negative attitude to the LOS gov't., and/or attempt to punish the Thai gov't., because of attitudes to visa holders. On the other hand yes the Thai gov't does need to look more deeply at the visa holders situation. 3

Popular Post nobodysfriend
A working vaccine that eventually provides a lasting immunity to the virus , and that is produced in Thailand , will certainly be good news . But what about : " Anutin vows to have half of population jabbed once Covid-19 vaccine released " ? " Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced on Monday that the vaccine will initially be tried out on Thais in their mid-60s, with the eventual target of covering at least 50 per cent of the population. " What about the other half of the population ? Who will decide who gets it and who does not ? 4

Pattaya Spotter
Isn't the Astra-Zeneka-Oxford vaccine one of those that's suspended Phase 3 testing and trials to investigate some adverse reactions? johnnysunshine
I hope our courageous leaders will be the first to try so that everyone can see whether or not this is a good idea for themselves. I do not think vaccines are a good idea simply because the ingredients are kind of scary. Do a search and see for yourself. I challenge someone to just take these ingredients and make a yummy smoothie with them and see how they feel after. 1

It was suspended for around 2/3 weeks when one person had myelitis but restarted as no connection was found. The USA however kept the suspension happily for their covid vaccine producers. 2

ronaldo0
Well if they chose Thailand it’s probably because it’s cheap and easier to access the chemicals needed to make whatever soup they call a vaccine ! No doubt the Thai government will be making out like it was invented by them .
