Just stumbled upon this thread in the Phuket news forum (though completely visa related).

https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1188295-phuket-immigration-confirms-retirement-‘visa’-income-combo-still-accepted/

It says that for the combo method a minimum of 400k has to be in the account.

Have I missed something (I am not personally affected)? Is it Phuket specific?

A friend did his extension over the years in Jomtien with ~200k plus income filling up to 800k.

Yes, it's probably Phuket Immigrations own rules. I have a friend in Jomtien, and he doesn't have 400k in the bank and he uses the combo method.

It is a Phuket requirement. There is no fixed number for money in the bank part of the combination option in the immigration order.

Many offices want the money kept in the bank for 3 months and then half of it for the remainder of the year.

I get tired of leaving 800k in my account,as dead money...

So l cut to about 450k,then use my pension as income, approx 480k..

Worked easily last year,at jomtien.

I will be doing it again in about two weeks time.

Need to my income verified by nz emabassy..

Im on non O multi entry, but may only get sinle entry this year..cant travel anyhow..

My 450k stays in the bank all year,untouched..

It's a Phuket thing,

But the 400.000 Baht minimum is only required for those people that don't use the embassy income certificate for the combination option.

If the embassy certificate is used then there is no minimum and the half of the used bank balance has to remain in the account.

They should do it if you have proof of 12 months of transfers into a Thai bank from abroad.
