Are there no folk in your country having financial problems because the virus....?

Every country is hit by the virus, I see it with some of my clients too. Business are doing worse. But the smarter of my clients had build a buffer. Plus of course the Dutch government is supporting small businesses by giving them a basic income for the months they have had no income in their company.

I think every country will struggle but there are a lot of people who never buildup any reserves and spend it all. I have no respect for those people. (some exceptions that are really poor) But a lot of people manage their finances wrong.

UK can be expensive to live in, especially London. My son pays 900 GBP a month rent for his share of a flat - and bills (fuel, water, council tax, insurance, internet) are on top. Not much change out of 1200 GBP. And his Landlord demanded an extra 100 GBP a month from this October (no Covid help there). In normal times he also has to pay for his commute to work (another 150 GBP a month). All other day to day costs are on top.

With such heavy outgoings, many Londoners live close to the edge - loose your job - debts rapidly mount up. Now that government furlough scheme is being cut, many of his friends are on notice of redundancy. A bleak winter ahead.
