Ever heard of ATMs?

Why do people still use travellers cheques?

ATMs make alot more sense.

MM

A lot more secure too.

thank you for your advise. My point of view is :

- someone can see the code and take your card

- fake keyboards are used in every country

- what if the card stay in atm

- what if the card is dammaged (it happened to me when i visit ireland few years ago)

- each withdraw cost you. if you make large withdraw it's not safe

- you can't check the rates of currency as you can do in the street

I think there is no perfect strategy, and each time i go in a foreign country i try to think about and find the best strategy.

For this time it will be :

- i come with some cash and some TC in euro

- i can change TC if i need

- i let the card in safetybox, but if i need more money i can withdraw. in this case i have the time to find a safe atm (inside a bank, ...)

- if someone take my TC i call amex

- if someone take the cash, too bad

I hope i make no mistakes, but it make me nervous about using my card outside my country, as i know many people around me having problems
