Uh, the sentence you quoted simply and factually states that President-Elect Biden won the election, it does not say that trump was immediately replaced (although that would have been preferable). And it's got nothing to do with whether trump concedes or not. Conceding the election has no legal implications.

I am far away to believe, that Biden will solve all problems. But people, please get a grasp. Your reaction gets more and more rabid by the hour. Like 3 year old children covering the eyes and the ears and truly believe, they are invisible.

 

It actually scares me, that after all this behaviour, there are still large amounts of people -- beyond the usual 10% of nutters -- supporting this drama. This is not a matter of sides or Dems vs Reps. It is a matter of being accountable, reliable and able to run a business or a negotiation.

Actually we have some indications that's already happening. As some may recall, when Trump was campaigning, one of his chief swamp targets was Wall St. Somehow as soon as he gained office, he lost his interest in them and actually greatly relaxed the rules that were put in place after the Great Recession to stop Wall Street from screwing over the country again. Now there's this:

Well over a week into this now though, and there have been no revelations of voter fraud, in remotely close to the levels that would be required to overturn the lead.

What the evidence coming forward has shown, is of courts throwing out very ill thought out and oft times laughable cases, yet none of the alleged fraud appearing. The latter in itself is truly remarkable, as if it had happened, you would expect something to have shown up by now.

I don't expect the losing side to be happy. Every four years there is such a situation, yet never before has it deteriorated to the extent we see today.

Every time a Trump accusation turns out to be incorrect or untrue, the more you have to question how any of the accusations from him, of which he has no evidence, should be worthy of consideration.

Firing people down the line in positions of trust because you don't like that they are standing by the truth and refusing to participate in false narrative is just nasty.

 

Patience, DSD.  Lots of lawsuits being filed.  Do you think they would be filing lawsuits if they didn't have any evidence?

Can't speak for darksideddog but since Trump's lawyers have produced none yet in court filings even after alleging much, why not? Trump has a history of bringing nuisance lawsuits that routinely get thrown out of court. Why should things be any different now? You really should look up the hilarious if painful exchange between a judge and a trump lawyer in Pennsylvania who began by alleging that Republican observers weren't allowed to watch the counting and finally had to concede that in fact a "non-zero" number of them did.

Trump's bed turner down isn't in a position to influence public opinion on the election.  Putting in a new CISA chief who is favourable towards Trump would no doubt see all of his fake claims passed on, and conspiracy theories given credence.

Prior to this election, once the Associated Press called what was a pretty clear result, that was considered the moment the fat lady sang. Verification and certification duly followed without drama.

Gore V Bush was a tough one, but that was about a precise count in a single state, which everyone agreed was a very tight race.

I shudder to think of how many decent Republicans right now are going to be considering voting differently next time round, given what they are seeing their party do to the very fabric of decent society.

In other elections that has held true, DSD.  In this election, though, no one has conceded.  To understand what that truly means would require knowledge of election law.  And since this election is not your typical election then, no, the fat lady has not sung in 2020.  Legally speaking there is no winner or loser at this time.  Granted, it doesn't prevent people from falsely claiming otherwise.

 

Unless someone can state what the actual law is that declares Biden a winner and Trump a loser then this point has been won by me.  I doubt anyone will be able to cite it.
