Lazada missed delivery at Pattaya by LEL (lazada express own delivery company ?) Can I pick up the parcel somewhere around by myself ?

hello,

When we miss a lazada delivery, can we pick up the parcel somewhere around Pattaya ? Tracking number shows that it is delivered by LEL, can you confirm that it's lazada delivery company ?

If they visit again in the morning I won't be available and the parcel is cash on delivery, can I just pick it up somewhere without contacting them first ?

thank you for your help.

No, and how do you know they "tried" ? You should first look at your account and the status on the order. It will state there if another attempt will be made.

Also if you wish to make other arrangement contact Lazada.

This is why i know that they tried to deliver ???? Or I would not say that they tried ????

and no, my question is to pick up the parcel somewhere, not talk with anyone prior to visiting their office. No possible ?

Thank you.

I had that in my account today and no one has been here and no one phoned prior to arriving and in my experience they always do, if its genuine. I have had it before they say they tried purely because they are behind, and nothing more.

With me, they always (always) phone first to make sure I'm home. I don't do COD but the delivery guy doesn't want to drive to my place only to find I'm not at home.

Lazada's site notes if they are unable to make the delivery (i.e. because it's a COD and you aren't home to pay for the delivery) they will phone within a (business) day to try again.

They also have some other notes regarding deliveries:

Such as, watching the tracking to see when a parcel is due to be delivered, making sure your phone number on your profile is correct, making sure you have the money ready when the driver arrives, ect, ect.

Note there is a chat function on those pages that runs from 8am-8pm everyday. They usually have someone available that speaks English. You could try talking to them and see if they can schedule a delivery at a more convenient time.
Or have the parcel delivered to an address where someone will be available to receive it (and pay for it).

I've been out when the driver has called and I've told him I wouldn't be home for another hour or so. What normally happens (or so it seems) is they carry on with the rest of their deliveries then try again when yours is the last one left (or they try again on their next run which seems to usually be in the afternoon).

I watch the Tracking all the time and when I see something has arrived at the Pattaya delivery hub, I know it's going to be delivered the next day. The normal route seems to be "Cleared Customs -> Logistics Facility (SSW - Samut Prakan or nearby to the airport) -> Delivery Hub (Chon Buri) -> Delivery Station (Pattaya) -> Out for Delivery.
Usually takes a 1-2 days from clearing Customs to arriving at the delivery center in Pattaya.
If it looks like it arrived in Pattaya between 1-4am, then I expect they will deliver it that same day. If it arrives later, then normally it won't be delivered until the next day.

It's not guaranteed though. Lot of things could happen that end up with a delivery happening within a day of the parcel clearing customs. Or it might take a couple days longer.

Note on "Attempted Delivery". WATCH the tracking. If you see the package "Cleared Customs and was handed to our delivery partner" and the next item is "Delivery Attempt Failed" (or something like that) it is likely that your package was lost or stolen. (I had 2 like that last month and a 3rd one that Lazada themselves suddenly cancelled for some unknown reason after it had cleared Customs.)

If you see the parcel arrived in the destination city and then see a "Delivery Attempt Failed" - check your phone to see if someone (from a number starting with "02") tried to call you. You may have missed the call and they presumed you weren't at home so they passed over your address.

(My phone volume is set to max, but depending on where it's at and if the speaker is covered, sometimes I don't hear it ring. More than once I've answered a call from the delivery guy only to find he'd tried calling me twice before earlier that morning.)

I get a lot of stuff from Lazada and know the delivery guys by name, I sometimes give them a Coke on a hot day and so on.

Some time ago they were always Kerry.... but the last 3-4 deliveries all seem to have arrived from differing outfits, and each needs to call ahead for directions. The last was the most interesting as he arrived on an old motorcycle with home made side-cart, I was half expecting him to bash me up some som-tam. He must have stopped for directions at a nearby shop, as he arrived following  the mid-afternoon cold beer delivery to my neighbour.

Yeah I think at one time Lazada had a contract with Kerry but for whatever reason decided to set up their own service.
My deliveries usually are small and show up on a scooter that has one of those large plastic lock boxes on the back. Same delivery guy almost every time but not long ago I too had a guy on a decrepit old scooter with a side-cart make a delivery.
I was thinking maybe it was a local delivery (i.e. the item was coming from a shop in Pattaya) and maybe the Lazada guy who runs around doing the pick-ups from the vendors also delivers any local shipments maybe ?

Not sure how they do that, but maybe when a vendor prints the shipping label and flags the order for pick up (or drops it off at a collection point), the shipping is already paid for so all that needs to happen is for the order to be delivered. Thus - maybe - it doesn't need to go to a Central hub to be resorted and then sent back out again (by a guy wearing a LEL jacket). Instead (maybe) it gets delivered by the guy collecting the parcels from the vendors ? If so, you'd think he'd be wearing a LEL jacket and have a better scooter/side-cart to use.

It did raise my eyebrows when that guy showed up and I double checked the parcel to make sure it was addressed to me. All good, but strange.

I find that LEX has delayed my last 2 packages , One was in their sorting depot in Bangkok from Midnight Thursday till Monday morning .

So I hope it will get delivered today .

The other one the seller had it packed and ready , but LEX didn't arrive to pick it up till 3 days later.

Both of these actions has resulted in " past delivery date ".

Kerryd , have you tried using the Live Chat recently . I have and it was on Friday and Saturday , both days between 12 noon and 3 oclock .

All I get is an automated response that eventually takes me back to " showing me how to use tracking " it didn't matter what I did I couldn't get a Human to converse with.

Actually I used it last month. It's tricky though, because if you type a question in the chat window (i.e. My order is missing) it generates some automated responses. If you click on any of them, it sends you to the help page.

But there is an icon as well to "Speak to an Agent" (or "Chat with an Agent" or something like that). Clicking on that alerts a "human" to respond. Once I got a "human" response, it went quite well.

They were able to look up the order I was having an issue with, see it's progress (or lack thereof) and generate an inquiry to the shipper.
The guy (I think it was a guy, not sure why, just seemed like it) I dealt with sent me an email 2 days later to let me know they were still working on it. 2 days later he sent another email. I think it was a day later when he asked me if I wanted to keep waiting or cancel the order (I cancelled it). He initiated the cancellation and refund right away.

I have had nothing but good help on previous occassions , like you say , very helpful.

But this time all I got was this. And when you typed into the bottom , "CLEO " (must be the name of the automated response unit )

just kept diverting me back to tracking.

I see that (just went to look). That looks like the same place I was at when I needed help. Can't remember what I actually typed in there the first time but I did get a response from an English speaking rep.

Try copying the link to the order number and paste that in there and see if that does anything. (Not just type the order number in. That might work but pasting the link might make it easier for them to open the order.)

Eventually got through to somebody by telling " CLEO " I couldn't find the order , and the live agent appeared.

Didn't solve the problem , just to compund matters , the item that is past the delivery date has now popped up  , we tried to deliver a package today blah blah blah .

Well we have been in all day , you know the story.

Fortunately, in my experience with Lazada, the problems are few and far between.
Most of them in fact aren't with Lazada, but with the delivery service, mainly between Customs at the airport and the first Logistics Station (Samut Prakan ?). That's where it seems things go haywire (and missing) the most.

At least they know about it now and hopefully keep on top of it. If it's past the delivery date and now showing "failed delivery" then I'd suspect it ain't ever going to show.

They must have a <deleted> load of stuff getting pilfered there all the time it seems.

This is why I try to shop " local " on Lazada , usually cuts down on delivery time .

Not this time though .

Ordered on the 11th , picked up on the 12th by LEX. Hopefully will be delivered tomorrow by BEST delivery.

7 days to cover 200 klms.
