Could someone please clarify. I was about to return to England this month but a friend tells me that irrespective of where you come from, you must do 14 days quarantine, is this correct? I showed him the info on the government website, updated three days ago but he said on the bbc they announced that everyone must enter into quarantine. I would be grateful if someone could clear this up as I may have to delay my plans.

I'd go with the GOV corridor list if I were you.  If you are able to access that news story you would see the next line to appear where it says "anyone returning...." is ;

Thanks, watching skynews who confirm that changes will be implemented on Dec 15th but only to those who come from high-risk places, so I don't think that affects us here but stand to be corrected.

The changes are that those returning from a country not on the corridor list will be able to pay for a test and reduce the quarantine time.  So no change to returning from Thailand provided you avoid transiting through a country not on the list.

Very mixed messages coming, they now inserted that everyone has to quarantine from Dec 2nd (the day I arrive) to Dec 15th, and then no one needs to. Very mixed messages.
