Yes, it was the EU that pushed us out, why can't you realise that is why Brexit happened. The British do not want to be involved your obvious future U.S.of G. club.....You can keep it......

In Belgium we have the same problem.

 

All kind of "Refugees" are now what you mainly see.

 

We, in Belgium, only blame our different governments for this, they had/have the tools to make their stay less easy, never any legislation has been created.

 

And this is the case for any country.

 

Of course for a government it is more easy to do nothing, and blame a third party, 

there are even some/a lot who believe it.

A very well written piece Proboscis unfortunately I think you have missed the point the poster you are replying to was making and indeed have missed out the most salient point you could have mentioned. I believe when the poster said "bitterness" he was not referring to the people of Paris or the citizens of Colongne, he probably was referring to the constant snide remarks from the Euro posters on this very site, the majority, but not all cannot go a post without a put down to the UK, especially England and there is no real need for it, it is not meant in fun, it is simply being damn right rude.

In my personal opinion Brexit happened because the U.K. and the E.U. are totally incapable of coexisting.

 

Britons are proud people, with a great history, despite it isn't an empire anymore, they still are convinced it is up to them to give orders, to tell how things must be, not the other way.

 

Sometimes they are even astonished that others may have a different approach of things as they have.

 

This could have worked if the E.U. was composed of countries like Belgium.

With France & Germany into it, it was a recipe for disaster.

 

What concern the daily "slurs", don't give the Remainers and others,  the opportunity to express them.

 

I can not judge who is right or wrong, but it is a fact that an action cause a reaction.

The left was massively Euro sceptic, especially Corbyn.

We don't want to give orders outside our country. We just dont want to take orders from a corrupt lopsided organization in which the french and the germans have the majority of the power.

 

We want to be sovereign and decide the fate and laws and decisions of our own country. Nothing wrong with that. It's the norm around the world in fact. The EU is the exception not the rule.

The seeds of euroscepticism were planted way before Cameron. Don't pretend to be an  expert on UK politics. 

 

The labour trade unionists were deeply Eurosceptic and rightly so, they planted many seeds. Back when Labour was credible. Back when Corbyn had a pair.

It's only Sturgeon and her gullible and ignorant followers causing disunity in the UK. Apart from that we are doing pretty well.

 

I agree I hope it ends well. But when one side is looking for a deal that helps both sides but the other side is looking to punish, then it becomes difficult. Let's see if the EU can take a more mature stance. Otherwise we both suffer. 

 

Try to remember, Brexiteers are not anti Europe we are anti EU. Only the Remainers claim otherwise. Don't fall for their rhetoric, its divisive and counter productive.

News just now 3 sticking point still there might be a final decision tomorrow or Wednesday. 

Looking like a no deal leave which is what I expected.
