Thai man impales himself on front gate after girlfriend doesn't answer his calls

A motorcycle delivery driver became concerned after his girlfriend did not answer his calls when he arrived at her house.

 

So he decided to climb over her gate at the house in Petchkasem Soi 19.

 

Unfortunately, Prathan, 35, impaled his leg on a spike and Poh Teck Tung rescue had to be called.

They found Prathan desperately supporting his own weight after the spike went through his calf.

 

He was cut free and taken to the Navy Hospital. 

 

Girlfriend "Blue", 30, said they had arranged to meet but he didn't specify the time. She was in the shower when he called and so did not hear him shout out and did not respond to her phone either.

She said that he was probably concerned for her safety as she suffers from depression. 

 

In a Daily News story they were pictured apparently hugging before the ardent suitor was whisked off to hospital.

At age 35, I think I could have gotten over that barrier - if she was worth it.  Nowadays, if I did that, my wife would leave me hanging for a day or two.  But I'm damn near twice their age.

Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing to do, and neither did it end well.... But, given that she was suffering from depression, what he did is really nice! What if she had actually killed herself? IMO he deserves some praise.... Don't think many would do the same (no matter male or female)

yes, sounds like a nice bloke locating for a woman suffering mental illness. Good on him.

A decent man trying to get to his girlfriend because he was very worried about her, he slipped. He deserves praise for his concern. I hope she gives him a hero's return when he gets out of hospital
