Politics Thai Opposition Slams Rally Figures for Encouraging Military Coup
The voters in the UK for example don't vote for a PM either, They vote for a political party, and the party that gains the most seats overall, then selects the PM from its own ranks, just as happens in Thailand. -

France - Drinks in glass bottles more microplastic contaminated than in plastic bottles
Scientists make surprising discovery about drinks stored in glass bottles: 'We were expecting the opposite result' Source: https://www.yahoo.com/news/scientists-surprising-discovery-drinks-stored-111521693.html Researchers studying microplastic contamination in common beverages made a startling discovery: Drinks stored in glass bottles contained between five and 50 times the level of microplastics as drinks in plastic bottles. "We were expecting the opposite result when we compared the level of microplastics in different drinks," said Iseline Chaïb of the Aquatic Food Safety Unit, which conducted the study at the ANSES Laboratory for Food Safety. = = = My comment > A somewhat conflicting message in the article: > Drinks stored in glass bottles contained between five and 50 times the level of microplastics as drinks in plastic bottles. > by avoiding single-use plastic containers in the first place, we can send a message to companies that we value more environmentally friendly packaging. -

What's happening with Jetstar?
I've read that Jetstar Asia will finish at end of this month. Will Jetstar still continue in any form? Will there be any Jetstar flights between Australia and Thailand? It seems confusing at the moment so hopefully some knows what is happening with the carrier. -

Report Bangkok Building Collapse Blamed on Design Flaws, Says PM
My suspicion is that they need to look at the state of the building on the day of the earthquake. Using a much simplified analogy, your house is probably fine once they finished it, but there would be problems if an earthquake hit while there were a bunch of workers on scaffolding, and climbing ladders hauling roof tiles. I'm not excusing the disastrous results, but I suspect there were a lot of structural elements to be installed later in the process. Including elevator shafts and external cladding which would have added torsional rigidity. What I'd like to see is a structural analysis of the building, on the day.
