Thailand reports biggest coronavirus surge, over 500 cases - Samut Sakhon placed in to lockdown

Thailand reported over 500 cases of coronavirus from the centre of its seafood industry where there are many migrant workers on Saturday, in by far the biggest one-day rise in a country that had previously brought the epidemic largely under control.

Chiang Rai declared safe and free from COVID-19

Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Rai has been declared safe and free of COVID-19 infections, as everyone who had been in close contact with an infected person were traced and screened, with no new cases being reported.

Police arrest biker suspected of snatching bags from foreigners

Investigation officers at Thonglor Police Station on Friday arrested Phitsanu Rodudom, 30, who allegedly disguised himself as a motorcycle taxi driver and stole foreigners' bags at Sukhumvit Soi 55 in Bangkok's Wattana district.

LONDON (Reuters) - Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed an effective lockdown on over 16 million people in England and reversed plans to ease curbs over Christmas, saying Britain was dealing with a new coronavirus strain up to 70% more transmissible than the original.

Car manufacturers make maintenance offers to curb air pollution

BANGKOK (NNT) - Vehicle emissions are considered one of the main culprits in the air pollution disaster. Car manufacturers are now offering special maintenance discounts for cars aged more than seven years, encouraging car owners to properly maintain the engines in order to prevent black exhaust smoke.
