Garro has just found bedders, so: :o

My name is Paul and I'm an alcoholic (oops wrong forum)

I'm 37 and originally come from Dublin.

I moved to England when I was eighteen and while there trained to be a Nurse.

I stayed in England until I was 31 and then moved to Saudi.

I didn't like Saudi and while on a trip to Thailand decided I wasn't going back.

I had been interested in Buddhism since my teens and wanted to ordain as a monk.

I got a job in BKK teaching and met a crazy Cambodian chick.

Finished with crazy Cambodian chick and decided to become monk for sure.

Met wife after finishing meditation course.

Moved to Phitsanulok city.

The chances of me becoming a monk begin to fade.

Move to wife's village where I have lived for last three years

Got married.

Baby on the way next month

Chances of ordaining as a monk in the near future, slim.

Welcome Garro, it reminds me alittle of a good friend of mine, he wanted to join the Clergy, I feel he had as much chance as yourself. :o

BTW, Suegha, we are a growing band it would appear, the visa forum throws up a couple on a regular basis, perhaps it could be the Fourth Flight of Earls in the making.

Moss

Thank you for the welcome suegha and mossfinn. It is nice being in a growing band.

BTW Mossfinn, I notice you have Oxford in your address.

I used to work at the John Radcliffe hospital

hi garro.

welcome to bedders!

I've enjoyed reading your posts in the general forums.

Have fun!

Ah, "Teitheadh na nIarlaí"! Maybe we could have our own forum!?!

Or maybe not, it would just be full of rowdy drinking, the (good) singing of rebel songs, swearing, (though not in an offensive way) philosophising, discussing good literature, plenty of slagging, and old cliches like, "May you die in Ireland"!

You are very welcome garro. I too, am from Dublin. We can't have too many Irish people on the forum!

I'm nearly Irish too. Sent of for my Passport about 2 weeks ago, t'be sure, t'be sure :o

I need to work on my accent now

You can say that again! :D

Do they still give an Irish passport to anyone who asks for one? :o

Mr BJ, if it's only 1 generation you're Irish. Welcome to the clan!

Why, tank ye very much Tiggy :o

Actually, if i'm in a clan do i have a tartan? We're from the Donohue's

  • Author

We Irish are very fortunate in that we can have loads of different tartans. There are a few based on the family name but most are based on the county you are from. Here's the fun bit. If your parents are from different county you can were their one too. In some cases you can find yourself able to wear 3-4 different tartans! Only problem of course, no body in Ireland wears tartan!!!

But we should wear it in Bedlam!!!

If you really want to be Irish BJ you need to wear a blue shirt, especially if you're going out courting.

Oh, and Irish men don't dance.

Suega, i just did a quick internet search and didn't realise that the clans even had different patterns in their Aran sweaters.

Garro, no problem with the blue shirt. I'm a man city fan :o
