Angela Knippenberg is unhappy about her portrayal in BBC crime drama (Image: Angela Knippenberg)

Husband and wife sleuths sifted through a serial killer’s flat and found the possessions of people who would later turn up dead.

They were in the lair of a monster known as The Serpent – and the evidence they discovered would help bring him to justice.

It's a great story, but the BBC adaptation is pretty sucky all round. Couldn't watch it without getting constantly irritated

I'm glad you said that! ????

I watched the first episode, then struggled through the first half of E2 before giving up.

Even Jenna Coleman  who, IMO, is usually a fine actor, (and gorgeous with it) especially as Queen Victoria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_(British_TV_series) can only be described as "wooden" in this production.

The police characterization is spot on even to this day its like you were there ????

Lazy and uninterested you mean?

The same is happening in a lot of films today, the going forward and

back in time, instead of the story just moving along start to end. the

Thai Police will be the next to complain for their portrayal in the movie,

Britiish Embassy too. Things haven't changed a lot since then.

Fantastic series, any idea where they filmed in Bangkok? They seem to have captured the late 70s well.

Also, what's the beer they are drinking? Does not look like old Singha ones

BTW love the old one as well
