Yep. Just driven BKK to Rayong on very quiet motorway.

No stops, straight through

Politicians speak.

Did you stay on the motorway and turn off on to Highway 3 near U-Tapao? Or turn off on to Highway 344 and proceed to Klaeng to pick up Highway 3 there?

Nobody seems to know if bar restaurants can open or not.

Pretty sure bars are closed.

Restaurants most likely open but not sure about selling booze with food.

If a bar buys a fryer and serves only french fries so they can keep selling drinks I'd call that being on thin ice.

Home delivery etc still going.

Well he really has only 2 options here: a total lockdown for a month, or let it rip.

Thank goodness your not in charge. Just 65 deaths. The government clearly have a handle on the situation and compared to the west it's laughable anyone could be critical. No fear just a measured approach.

The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

He's probably been getting 'Prime Minister Lessons' from Boris Johnson - yesterday morning, kids should go to school - yesterday evening, whole country locked down.

Its not as simple as that. As the UK has found, to its cost - its much better to be ahead of the curve than behind it.

A 'measured' approach will almost certainly lead to the virus spreading everywhere and large increases in infection rates. The UK is now in its third lockdown when one, properly enforced one, together with quarantine for people coming in would probably have done the job.

I'm starting to think Covid is a thing.

If you got free tickets to a football game with 100,000 people and free beer, would you go?

If there was free beer but all 100,000 people couldn't wear a mask, would you go?

how about 10,000?  1,000?  10?

as they say....................................................... up to you

how can anyone trust these people, what kind of mumbo jumbo government/leaders does Thailand has, God, please, have mercy

Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Samut Sakhon coastal provinces placed under TOTAL LOCKDOWN

Thailand’s five coastal provinces of Samut Sakhon, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat have been placed under total lockdown, meaning travel in and out of the provinces is banned, unless it is absolutely necessary.

It was poor reporting by PBS, and reposted by TVF

In Europe, we see everyday the same order and counter-order . This situation change quickly. Nobody knows about evolution . For politics (people elected like in Europe or Thailand) it is not easy to find a middle to respect the life of the people and close areas , the best solution to stop contamination. The final decision has to be on the top of governement.

Thailand is in much better shape and don't be so quick.

Your government I believe today, is trying to pass a law to allow them for stricter measures including lockdowns.

Sweden and Japan are the poster child's of failure with minimal restrictions and now many cases and deaths.

So, enjoy your freedom while you can because I bet it is all coming to an end soon.

Sweden’s government hopes to have the power to impose lockdowns from Jan. 10, if a bill submitted on Monday passes parliament.

The temporary laws, if enacted, will give authorities the legal clout to shut down businesses and fine those infringing the restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the virus, according to the Minister of Health Lena Hallengren.

Better shape?? Do you mean by ordering the Chinese vaccine for a small percentage of the population and have not started to vaccinate yet? Sweden will have their whole population vaccinated  before Thailand have vaccinated a small part of their population, and for free, with Pfizer and Astra Zaneka vaccine, no untested Chinese <deleted>  like Thailand will use. As a farang in Thailand how do you plan to get vaccinated with a quality vaccine, what's your plan for that ?
