Residency Certificate no longer at immigration

Chiang Mai Immigration has stopped issuing residency certificates.  They are directing me to the Consulate.  When I go to the consulate website there used to be a special form you fill out for this.  It is now missing.  All they have is a blank affidavit.  Is this what we are having to use now?  Anybody else have this problem?

Not good news for AU folk. Oz embassy does stuff all for its citizens including issuing RC.

Probably too many requests and are directing one to their home country embassy to verify that they are residing temporarily in Thailand and let their home country embassy do all the work.

 

Always found it odd that Thai immigration issued a residency certificate for temporary stayers when in reality most long and short stayers in Thailand are not resident in Thailand in terms of immigration residency rules.
