How do that? Should I go to the police station? Will they actually care or laugh at me? Should I send a Thai person?

  • What should you do??????? Mind your own business, thats what you should do, or you got a death wish?

  • Nobody likes a grass, and your name WILL get out unless even if you tip off the plod anonymously or via a Thai proxy.   Personally, unless I'm directly affected I'm just keeping schtum.

  • Unless it's really affecting your life, I'd steer clear of that. The repercussions when your name gets out (and it will) could be devastating.

Why?

I have very good reasons and it's not just my personal concern. Not about online workers or a poor man feeding his children or a 30k baht teacher or anything like that don't worry..

If you really feel that strongly head off to the cop-shop with the relevant details and file a report, if they act on it or not is then up to them.

Nothing to do with 'grassing'... in these dangerous times dose Thailand need unchecked and undocumented people running around putting the county under siege not knowing who they are or where they come from while others have to endure weeks of quarantine?...

OP didn't specify, could be a documented farang that just happens to be working illegally.

It's more a case of "personal safety" than the actual act of grassing someone up.

If the operators of these allegedly illegal workers (and our OP will need compelling evidence, not just "a feeling" or he's going to be hit with a defamation suit too) are influential people then he could find there are "issues" next time he goes to renew his stay (or even next time he goes to the shops).

Great care and thought is needed, we are not in <insert name of safe western country> any more.

Still searching for one!  Any ideas?

Yeah, I should have said "safer" ????

That said, "back home", unless you upset The Mob or a major drug kingpin, nothing really nasty is going to happen to you, or is it?

We really don't want to report the headline "Foreigner falls from 15th floor condo, zip tied, with a plastic bag over his head and 4 gunshot wounds. Thai police suspect suicide".

Thanks everyone for being concerned about my life but of course I'm not thinking about interfering with an illegal activity ran by a Thai mobster. The guy is a Falang.

not sure about that, the crimestoppers hotline in the uk, where people can supply the authorities with information aout crime/criminals, has been extremely benefitial in putting criminals behind bars, which is exactly where they should be for the good of society as a whole.

So what has he done to you for you to report him to the BiB, keep yer nose out is my advice unless he is a kiddie fiddler or drug supplier, then fill her boots.

That could be worse if his well connected steer clear and keep ya nose out,  unless it is affecting you directly.

I had trouble with a farang. I went to the authorities, they said "Deal with it yourself. No money, no interest. Why you not just beat him up?"

True, but I'm not sure they would accept a report of an illegal foreigner in Thailand, unless of course he was wanted on a serious rap in the UK.

Op - it would serve you well on this thread to explain why, otherwise people just think you are a pathetic tool wishing getting involved with something which doesn’t concern you.

---------

A number of years ago my wife ‘nearly’ got involved in some low end business with a French lady.

My Wife attended an event, didn’t like the set up, it was nothing like that which was promised, my wife felt misled and cheated, so she left. She phoned the French lady to explain why. The French lady demanded money some money from my Wife and started hassling her, e-mails, messages, phone calls. After a few days it was becoming too much. I contacted a good friend in Immigration, found out that the Woman was on a Tourist Visa but working.

My close friend was ready to arrest her, I said wait and see if she gives my Wife any more hassle - I would warn her and if she continued then yes, get her deported. Fortunately, I didn’t have to warn the French lady, she simply stopped hassling my wife of her own accord. She had no idea how lucky she was and was fortunately I was very reluctant to become someone I don’t want to be.

IMO - only ever get involved if your hand is forced because it takes an exceptional a$$hole to impact someones life in this way takes and you won’t like what you see in the mirror unless you can honestly justify your actions to yourself.

Is he directly affecting you or your business (bonking the missus or undercutting your prices 'coz he has none of the expenses associated with being legal)?

If so, go for it, if not why even worry?

Try taking a brown or a grey note with you, money talks!

You'll be fine unless you happen to be messing with someone's rice bowl who is more connected and less scrupulous than you.   Hint: don't say anything else if they close the door behind you anytime during your 'tipping off' or if the superintendent is smoking a cigar when you walk in.   Henchman who are standing around doing nothing are also a bad sign.

and i wish that they visit you for being a grass...

Can you put the complaint in abstract form so the court of TV can rule on it?

He is 2m tall, 136kg heavy and hits like Mike Tyson.

Maybe Steven 100 or alias..... could help out.

how would you know they are unchecked and undocumented, do they have a sign around their necks or something, or is it the fact they are working and therefore must be cheap labor therefore...........

Dont worry nobody is concerned about your life

For reference - the anonymous "free call" number to Immigration Police - 1178 (known as the snitch line)

Since the majority of police are on the take, you might be the one that ends up in jail. LOL. I personally think anyone that turns someone into the police for working is a complete ass.
