Well, it was a bit of a slow experience, but I spent some time going over this map and scratching my head.

First thing I did was try to pinpoint where I live. I noticed that the Day-Night hotel is now the "Night & Day Hotel". Same thing for soi DayNight, now shown as soi Night & Day.

Soi DayNight 1 has become soi TukCom, and soi DayNight 2 is now soi Night & Day 2 (do I have to change my address labels and send out "Change of Address" cards to everyone now ?).

Soi 17 starts off as Pattayasaisong 16 and turns into Pattayasaisong 17 just past soi Hollywood. Then after it crosses # 3 road it becomes simply Pattayasoi 17.

Soi VC is shown as Pattayasaisong 17. The Big Buddha is titled "Big Buddha Statye". Wat Chaimongkon (as spelt on the Tourism Thailand website) is Wat Chaimongkron on the map.

Soi Bukhao is shown as Pattayatai 22.

Anyways. Most of the ads have a little "Show on map" button below them. If you click on that, a little arrow will appear and the map will eventually recenter itself on that location. Next time I have a party at the Blue Lagoon, I may use this map to show people how to get there (though if they have slow 'net connections, the party may be over before they can see the map !) :o

Thanks for the link. Apart from a few naming and spelling differences, which is quite normal for maps in Thailand, it has a very nice interface. I particularly like the way you can move through the map in the small window to bring up the corresponding location on the large map. As far as Internet maps go, I find this one quite fast.

Thanks Kerryd for your input!

I never take anything like this as critics! It's just valuable help for me!

To find the right streetnames in Thailand is not easy!

As You mentioned Soi Bukhao is shown as Pattayatai 22! Thats because where that soi starts (opposite TukCom) there is a roadsign with Pattayatai 22!

Thinking about it, I'm not sure if I ever seen a roadsign with Soi Bukhao???

But on the map I have both names added!

The "Night & Day" error is embarrising! :o I'll have a look at it and change on the maps!

For the Wat! What is right?? Sene both spellings (as well as some others)

For the other errors: I try to update the map asp!

If You found something more that should be different, don't hesitate to contact me!

Best regards

This area is confusing! But go out and look at the roadsigns!

Thats what I', done! (Well, at least most of the time!)

Yes, Pattayasaisong 16 and turns into Pattayasaisong 17 just past soi Hollywood because Soi VC (or Pattayasaisong 17) makes two quick 90degrees turns there! I'll guess long time ago Pattayasaisong 17 was going straight! Now there is a building in the way!

Yes, that area is real confusing!

But don't change Your adresscards!

I'm gonna change the map!

As Tropo pointed out, spelling does seem to change every time you see a new map. In all the times I've driven up and down soi Bukhoa, I've never noticed a street sign (and I live 3 blocks away !).

Some of the roads I've probably come to know because my (Thai) friends told me that's what it was. Other places do seem to change on a whim as well.

Like you mentioned, where soi 17 meets soi 16, it used to carry on through into the Hollywood disco parking lot. Then someone decided to put up a building in the middle of what used to be a street !

I like the way the "show on map" buttons work, and I imagine with a better internet connection the map would load (for me) quicker.

Oh yeah, the link to the Blue Lagoon A Go Go (on the bottom left of the Pattaya map page) doesn't work (http://www.thebluelagoonthailand.com). I really should do up a webpage for them one day. Problem is, when I'm there, I'm too busy drinking in their bar. When I'm here, I'm too busy working or browsing this place !

(hmmm, note to self. Something to do during those long boring waits in the airport).

That would have to be one of the single best things they could do around here. Put up street signs (besides the Soi numbers) with consistent spelling and stick with them.

I'm getting used to it now, but it was very difficult to find anything when I first arrived.

You'd think with the volume of tourists coming here they would have some incentive.

Kerry, do you need a god reson to go down to Blue Lagoon???

You can go down and tell Geir that ther is a new URL to my sites and ask him to change on the links on their sites!

Anyone more that found things that needs to change??
