BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand reported 187 new coronavirus cases and two deaths on Monday, bringing the overall number of cases to 13,687 and fatalities to 75 since it detected its first case a year ago.

No demerit points for speeding in Phuket, for now

PHUKET:-- Motorists fined for speeding or any other moving violations are currently not losing any demerit points from their driver’s licences as the whole demerit-points system has yet to be launched, Phuket Traffic Police confirmed today (Jan 25).

Field hospitals in Thailand’s coastal province of Samut Sakhon were placed on standby on Monday to receive the around 800 new COVID-19 cases, expected after health officials began screening as many as 10,000 people a day for five consecutive days in a mass pro-active screening exercise.
