SURAT THANI (NNT) - On Koh Samui, Surat Thani, as a result of sluggish tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many hotels and resorts have closed temporarily. Meanwhile, some operators are able to maintain their businesses by reducing the number of employees and turning to greater online marketing in order to save their businesses and the remaining employees.

On Koh Samui, all streets, hotels, resorts and beaches are quiet due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are now hardly any tourists on the normally popular "Chaweng beach".

However, some enterprises are still operating despite a small number of customers. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Casa De Mar Hotel has been trying to maintain its business by laying off half of its employees and cutting the salaries of the rest of the employees.

Despite the pay cut, the employees are still devoted to work. Employees who were laid off are looking forward to returning to the hotel. The hotel manager said today that COVID-19 is a difficult experience especially the challenge of maintaining a business in the midst of the crisis.
