President of the European Commission.

It is very telling when that level of pedantry is the best comeback you have to the points I raised about the flaws in the EU.

All those rules and regulations and yet they can’t even place a decent purchasing contract for a life saving vaccine. Embarrassing.

You seem to have missed a couple of salient points.

Firstly the relative population sizes, and secondly the core problem with deliveries has been Astra Zeneca production problems, problems which Astra Zeneca have said are now resolved.

There is also an issue in the conflict between statements made by Astra Zeneca that the UK were restricting the company exporting to Europe and the denial from the UK Government that they were. Why then would Astra Zeneca make such a claim?

The EU has supply contracts with multiple suppliers, which are now coming on stream, the UK’s is doing better at the moment but the EU is far from failing in its efforts.

List of EU presidents, from the EU website!

https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/presidents_en

As your link confirms, there is no EU president, but you can choose your pick: council president, commission president, or parliament president.

The post to which I replied was purposefully talking about "the" EU president.

The presidency takes turns, every 6 months a different country.

The Council of the EU, not "the" EU.

Quote from your source:

"The Council of the EU - where national ministers discuss EU legislation - doesn't have a permanent, single-person president. Its work is led by the country holding the Council presidency, which rotates every 6 months."
