The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders has accepted for trial a corruption case filed by public prosecutors against a former deputy secretary-general of Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Mr. Prayad Puangchampa has been found, by the NACC, to have concealed his wealth in Thailand and abroad, estimated at about 227 million baht, which was discovered hidden in his wife’s name.

The public prosecutors filed the case with the Supreme Court on January 7th, accusing Mr. Prayad of violating the law that requires certain public servants to declare their assets and liabilities fully, before assuming office.
