My Samsung smart phone just received a new Sim card that supports 4G/5G.  Did you ask Dtac whether a new Sim card will be accepted and functional in your old phone?

Thanks, they said the existing sim would work in any 3/4 -g phone.

Thanks for the entertainment, friends ... ????

The facts are:

1.  the phone connects to the DTAC network

2.  it receives SmS messages and voice calls

3.  if I dial out, the error message is credit expired  ...  the account has 3100 baht credit. This happened last year; then (at Airport Plaza DTAC), I was able ... by raising  a wee bit  o'  hell  ... to get the balance re-credited.

On topic responses, please

I am presuming this is a pre paid sim card. What is the validity/expiry date of the SIM. Presumably you are aware that call credit and validity of the sim do not move in tandem?
