champers
Anyone know a place you can buy fudge or Scottish tablet? There is a shop in Central on Beach Road called Cream and Fudge that doesn't sell it.
Guderian
Try asking Siamburi's via FB, they're very quick to respond usually. They stock lots of sweets from the UK so might have fudge in one form or another.

Kerryd
I was going to suggest a shop in Central Festival but it turns out it is the same shop you mentioned. Did they run out or just aren't selling it anymore ? I've made homemade fudge a number of times. It's actually pretty easy. Couple different ways to do it. (One recipe basically just requires sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips and a microwave.) These are some recipes I've bookmarked (and tried) in the past.https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chocolate_marshmallow_14263https://showmetheyummy.com/easy-chocolate-fudge/ https://chocolatechocolateandmore.com/3-minute-fudge/ https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-the-easiest-chocolate-fudge-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-180891 https://www.milkmaid.in/recipes/chocolate-fudge Making your own let's you fiddle with the flavourings and "extras" (like adding walnuts or something) to suit your taste. Sometimes it comes out OK. Sometimes you are glad no one else is around to taste it !
champers
I suspect I may end up going down the DIY route.
dabhand
No help. I'm afraid, but, ahh, Scottish tablet. Wonderful stuff. Must be over 40 years since I tasted that last. Still recall the wee shop that sold it just off the Top Cross in Hamilton. My auntie, when she stayed in a country estate (uncle was a gamekeeper) near Spittalfield in Perthshire was also a 'dabhand' at making various types of tablet. Memories.....!!

Thorntons sold it in England. Like many Scottish food and drink inventions; Scotch pies, bridies, whiskey; it is delicious but bad for your health. I would like to say I can have some fudge or tablet and ration myself over a few days but ....
