Thai singer Joey Boy - known as the Godfather of Thai Hip Hop - has tested negative for Covid-19 after appearing at a venue where people tested positive.

He took a test at Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok on Monday and will now be quarantining for 14 days before another test.

New TV said that many celebrities have either tested positive or are quarantining after being at venues where virus outbreaks occurred.

The speed of the outbreak has been fast and is affecting many in the industry as well as mainstream Thai life.

Already positive are singer Stamp Athiwat and actor Pepo Natchaphan.

Many other celebrities are quarantining for 14 days.

with negative test and hospital stay he is having a preferential treatment.

my elderly neighbour was let home from hospital, where she went with symptoms. Only after sometimes she got a message she is negative.

it all shows double standards and media should rightly expose and shame them

Where does it say he is still in hospital? You don;t tay in hospital if you test negative. Probably quarantining at home.

so far quarantining in thailand means the government facilities, not home (as in europe or anywhere else).

still, he was offered help (at the expense of taxpayer), even without any symptoms.

there was a case of market seller from ratchaburi at in infected bang kae, when lady was let home and never received her test results. Probably lost. After sometimes she got symptoms and positive test.

there was also case of celebrity in january (superspreder DJ), who organised large birthday party on a roof of a posh hotel, all night drinking in a private suite, despite ban for both. After getting better and negative he insisted on staying at hospital, because that way he was protected from police investigation and time allowing him to meddle with evidence and witnesses

There's a pretty long list in the following Thai PBS article of various public figure folks who have been diagnosed with COVID lately.

The government's transport minister, the government's public relations chief, the Japanese ambassador to Thailand, and more.

Point taken however many Thais (and in other cultures too, including some Americans) subscribe to celebrities getting special treatment.

Samitivej is a private hospital, he's paying for his test, nothing preferential about it and it didn't cost the taxpayer.

C’mon, you should know better than to let the facts get in the way of an uneducated, ill informed poster taking half a story and embellishing it with his own prejudice...  He’ll have to make something else up now !!! ????

Yes, there is no way that he was treated for free at Samitivej. He just went there because he could afford it. And since he is negative, surely he will confine himself at home until the next test 14 days from now.
