I'd rather be here. On Phuket or Samui. Than in the west where the virus is raging.

But this could quickly change.

And in fact in UK, the virus WAS raging....with vaccines, just look at the difference!

Wow.  Great news!  Fingers crossed this works.  Sadly, who knows when we'll get jabs here???  Hopefully, by July.  But it will be AZ probably.  Not sure I want that one right now?????

I agree, we are better of here than in many other countries, but we are already here without the added imposed drama's of getting here.

Just in response to your concerns, though not strictly on topic for Thailand:

I had my first AZ in February as have 6 friends and acquaintances.  My second one in 3.5 weeks

Apart from the usual slightly tender arm the next day, no side effects. The blood clots about which you're reading affect a tiny number of people and the causal link is not fully established with the numbers indicating that Covid could be more of a risk than AZ.  Please note my emphasis

Search " az vaccine blood clot ".

Here on Gov.UK  it says that the AZ vaccinations should continue, especially for older people. Of course, that article is "Updated 9 April 2021" and things move very fast indeed.

Unless something changes, i shall have my 2nd shot on May 6th.

Thailand has indeed botched the roll-out and I do so hope you all get the opportunity to get your shots.

Thank you. I'll probably take whatever jab they offer me first. It's not even know how long they last. Nor if they will cover future variants. So we might have to be lining up again to defeat this <deleted>.

Again, thanks!

You're welcome  - there is talk in UK of "booster" jabs later this year for those already vaccinated - nothing firm of course, just talk so far.

IMO, this will eventually devolve into something like "flu, where one is advised to get a jab annually, although of course, the effects of Covid on some people are more serious than 'flu.

But again, this is so fast-moving that the only prediction I'll make is that "things will change" ????

There have been studies where false info has been put into wikipedia. It does not take long before the false information is removed. Yes, anyone can edit it, but anyone can also fix it when false data is added.

Further, most info in wikipedia has references to the originating source, so you are free to check the actual source for validity.

Concerning the source of the 1918 flu pandemic, this Kansas source was an authentic outbreak and reported in 1923. It seems that Wikipedia is not up to speed on this one. Any volunteers to update it with this from 2014:

You present ONE opinion you found on the internet somewhere (I guess that means it must be true). This is a complex issue which warrants more scrutiny than a single source.

Here's a much better analysis: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC340389/

I'll stand by my initial post and leave the source as Kansas. I would hazard to guess that if you changed wikipedia, your edits would be quickly removed.
