on a foreign licence you would have to go to court

Correct - and you thereby acquire a criminal record. I remember a bit of a brouhaha a few years back when applicants for British Citizenship had to delay their applications until their conviction for a motoring offence on a foreign licence was spent.

I think you're allowed to reside in the UK for so many weeks of the year. I renewed mine online, using my passport number, and received it with no issues. Im sure hmrc have got better things

  • If you are declared resident in Thailand, why do you need to renew a UK licence?  Your Thai licence is good for 3 months there and you can hire cars on it.  if that is not the case, you must have a UK

i don't think a minor traffic offence would give you a criminal record. may have to be declared for citizenship, but that a different ball game,

you would have had to been convicted of a recordable offence, to get a criminal record
