BMA Confirms Sufficient Beds for Covid-19 Patients

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has sufficient beds to cope with the recent spike in Covid-19 linked to the Thong Lor area cluster.

 

Bangkok Governor Aswin Khwanmuang said the BMA has the capacity to treat the growing number of Covid-19 patients from entertainment venues and has prepared the groundwork for the setting up of field hospitals since the first wave last year.

 

Facilities include the City Hall-run Rachapiphat Hospital with 200 field hospital beds, while another 500 beds are available at the Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital.

 

He added that a field hospital in Bang Bon district will be opened on April 13 with 200 beds and the Bangkok Arena sports stadium can also double as a field facility offering 350 beds. If needed, the BMA will ask hotels to set rooms aside for patients.

 

According to the BMA’s Medical Service Department, it is cooperating with medical networks, the Department of Medical Services, the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools and the Private Hospital Association to find more space for field hospitals.

Can you send some over to Chiang Mai, they're asking for public donations for beds, mattresses, toilet paper and even water for their field hospital.

Let me think about this for a minute............. okay thinking done, do the BMA or any other city hall, local government not have an emergency planning department that should have an action plan ready & waiting to be put into effect in the case of a major disaster ? Such as the one now threatening the whole country ?

 

This has been around for over a year now, Thailand has been lucky so far but I & many others ( of course there are some deny it's existence or claim it's a scam ) now believe the genie is out of the bottle, so as usual reactive Thailand is caught on the back foot again.

 

And the vaccination programme ? Well if it wasn't so serious it would be hysterical, what was the band were playing as the thaitanic went down?
