webfact
By Paphamon Arayasukawat BANGKOK (NNT) - To achieve the government’s target of acquiring 100 million COVID-19 vaccine doses this year, Director of the National Vaccine Institute (NVI), Dr. Nakorn Premsri, says the Ministry of Public Health is now in talks with a number of vaccine manufacturers. The Ministry of Public Health held a meeting with AstraZeneca, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, to follow up on vaccine production by Siam Bioscience. AstraZeneca has completed the technology transfer, and two batches of vaccine samples have passed quality tests. The vaccine production and distribution remains on schedule, and the doses should be ready in June. Concerning reports of Pfizer offering to sell 13 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Thailand, using a buy now, pay later deal, and that the government rejected the offer after being approached by the company four times, Dr. Nakorn said these reports are not entirely true. After having checked the issue with Pfizer, Dr. Nakhon explained that the proposal to sell 13 million doses was submitted to the company’s headquarters to prepare for a meeting with the Ministry of Public Health. Therefore, such a figure has not been proposed to Thailand. It is only an estimate, in accordance with last year’s vaccine procurement plan, which is set at inoculating 10 percent of the population. There is no buy now, pay later deal with Pfizer. The company has presented research information to the NVI and the Department of Disease Control (DDC) on a regular basis, and the government has never turned down any meeting with its representatives. The government has also been informed that its vaccine can be used in children over 12 years old. With proper logistics and storage, the government is confident of ordering the Pfizer vaccine to be used in the country. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-04-29 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Okay, but that means that these reports are almost not untrue, right? 36 minutes ago, webfact said: With proper logistics and storage, the government is confident of ordering the Pfizer vaccine to be used in the country. Well, after deciding to fly to the moon, to plan to build a bridge over the gulf of Thailand, after the decision to operate an aircraft carrier and an armada of submarines, and after claiming to be the hub of almost everthing, nevertheless so far Thailands official position always has been that the Pfizer vaccine was too demanding and too sophisticated to be used in Thailands climate, as it requires to be stored at the temperature of dry ice, as it is also common in the food industry. Good to read that now eventually Thailand has achieved and done this important and huge step for the Thai manhood to be able to perform proper storage at this demanding temperature of dry ice. This really is great news! Now finally the country is able to catch up with other countries like Singapore. And now please, PLEASE stop babbling BS and finally sign this order with Pfizer !!! Popular Post ThailandRyan
The pay later portion was not accepted as there was no brown envelope forthcoming from Pfizer, which could have improved the bid.

Long past time for talking, action is needed now, not later. Reason for the time spent talking is those responsible for getting the vaccines are dragging it on, just to see if they can get BIG brown envelopes from the vaccine companies. 6

Caldera
There are plenty of people in Thailand - both Thais and expats- who are willing and able to pay a premium for the Pfizer vaccine. Just order it already.
Golden Triangle
Watching the English version of the CCSA Covid briefing I was under the impression that any Pfizer vaccine would be used on those of school age, I don't know how many school kids there are in Thailand but would 10 - 15 million jabs cover it and would there be any left over for those oldies who might wanna buy it ? mark131v
Ahh more deflection and blather, the UK has just confirmed a further 60 million doses of Pfizer for their autumn booster shots The vaccinations are out there but they are not free and there is no scope for brown paper bags or backhanders, that's why Thailand has no vaccines... 1
