The governor of Narathiwat province in the far south of Thailand ordered the closure of three Muang district communities and several beaches as Covid-19 cases surpassed 500.

Only those with permission are allowed to move into the Moh Seu Mae, Kampong Bharu 2 and Tha Rua (port) 2000 area, reported 77kaoded.

Six other places have also been sealed off including Narathat and Ao Manao beaches.

Governor Jessada Jittarat has reported 515 cases of Covid-19 with 43 in hospital and one death. The rest have recovered.

Ao Manao Beach looks nothing like in the stock photo anymore. Most sand is gone, eroded away by the rising sea level.

On topic, many beaches can still be visited, most notably south of the Thaksin Ratchaniwet Palace. No big loss here.
