Electronics factory in Phetchaburi closed after 682 employees catch COVID-19

A Cal-Comp Electronics factory in Phetchaburi province has been closed from today (Friday) for 14 days by its management, after 682 of its 3,300 employees tested positive for COVID-19.

 

Phetchaburi provincial health chief, Dr. Petcharuek Tansawat,said yesterday that health officials are awaiting the test results for about 2,000 other employees.

 

In addition to the factory, the provincial communicable disease committee also decided to close off two sub-districts in Khao Yoi district, namely Sra Phang and Bang Khem, where many foreign migrant workers, who are employees of Cal-Comp, have been living in dormitories and rented houses.

obviously someone who got sick arrived at a hospital, a bit late now to bring this under control considering 25% of factory workers are now infected and have been spreading CV 19

So my guess is that tomorrow numbers will be the usual  ~2000 + 682

A proverbial can of Worms has been opened by the Prison Infection leak.

Now all eyes are on other overcrowded and poorly managed spaces that people spend time in, such as the Factories.

And the outbreaks in these places will not all be down to the Immigrant Workers, as seems to be the case in almost all reports published by the Media.

Apparently, the case numbers have more than doubled at this Factory.

The government have made a big thing of people who hide their Timeline Etc, with threats of Fines and Prison.

Its now time to make an example of these Employers that have allowed their operations to carry on for the sake of profits and share prices.

There is no way, that with the number of infected people, the management, and the Owners were not aware they had an issue with Covid.

This Companies share price fell over 6 % on the SET Yesterday, and I for one hope it never recovers, and even slides further as large Customers desert them

Thailand is going to suffer hugely because it's society from the roots up is built upon lies and 'face' and people's inability to accept responsibility and accountability. Very sad but its a fact.

Are most of these peole asymptomatic or have very mild cases that none know they are sick untill tested?
