No, drinking with 3 mates is not a criminal offence, no one was ever charged to face the jury Best you find another place to spout your nonsense As for your Prayut comment, even more pathetic than the rest, What is more dangerous drinking with 3 buddies in isolation or walk around without a mask spreading the virus? Popular Post Classic Ray
I feel sorry for Thai restaurateurs, especially those aimed at farang. They make most of their profit from expensive alcohol like wine. I can eat a meal at 6pm but cannot enjoy it with a glass of wine. If it stops people gathering that is less customers for the restaurant, this could be imposed from say 8 or 9pm to stop parties being held. No one will come for tourism from farang countries if they can’t have a beer or glass of wine with a meal. Less restrictions in Dubai and that’s a Muslim state! 4

Popular Post ronaldo0
Another report I read said they were getting charged for congregating in a group of more than 2 people. Didn’t realise that was illegal at the moment ? As for them breaking the law drinking , yes they were and got caught but as someone pointed out the other day there are people walking along beaches selling drinks to people on the beach and if you really wanted to you could catch a lot more people drinking in bars and places on the beach all around the island. ????

It's quite worrying that the powers that be in certain countries can ignore this general observation and secondly create laws overnight restricting certain activities. It's even more ridiculous that they have chosen one particular aspect of eating out to focus on. I have a friend whose workaround presently is to only meet up with one of his friends at a time, bringing his own cup and I'm he's not telling me where. It makes no sense to me why all our outdoor facilities are locked at our condo. The pool is rarely used, and when I did my 1200m every other daily swim there was never any one else around. I can see other condos from my balcony, which clearly think the "temporary closure" notices don't apply - people are swimming, playing tennis or basket ball, (the latter two being far more risky than swimming, given their potential for contact with others). Out of desperation for physical activity, I have taken to walking on the pavement near my condo for an hour's circuit, and one encounters others jogging for the same purpose. But of course shopping malls and in dining are open. The science behind this? Money & greed.

The point is there has to be duties more vital to the public safety than expending time arresting 3 old men who if they were endangering anyone, they were endangering themselves. As to that risk, you have 3 friends who likely spend time together outside of the bar. I would view their risk of contracting covid inside the bar is far far far less than the shopping at Makro, Tesco or Big C surrounded by hundreds of people. I am not saying the police should not have ticketed them. However to somehow take their pictures inside a police precinct and proudly showcase their arrest seems to be beating ones chest for something pretty insignificant. Additionally, if these same three men were sitting in the same bar and enjoying a soft drink, iced tea, and a glass of water, they would not have been arrested. That just demonstrates how arbitrary and ridiculous the ban on alcohol is. The only thing it is really accomplishing is putting the bar owners and restaurants into insolvency.
