Vaccination of foreigners. What now?

I got a reply from CM Ram Hospital as to what they meant by "Alternative Covid-19 Vaccines"?

 

"This survey is for Sinopharm and Moderna Vaccine and for Non Thai Citizens as well."

 

Of course I replied with Moderna or bust.  This survey is to start on June 1 at 1000.

I don't follow the Vax news much lately because it just goes in circles. I don't need the drama.

 

I stumbled accross a pop up Vaccine Registration Desk in a shopping mall in Hua Hin on Wednesday afternoon, hardly anyone there.

I registered and was advised that I would receive a phone call in due course, I wasn't holding my breath.
Late on Friday I got a call asking me to return and collect my appointment card.
I went yesterday afternoon, it was quite busy but very well managed with a numeric queueing system, I was able bypass the queue as I was just collecting an appointment card, and was given my already written card in a minute or so.
My appointment is for 7 June at the Hua Hin Hosptal, they advised me that I'd be getting the AZ vaccine.
I was pleasantly surprised by the whole process, I just hope that statement doesn't come back to bite me in the bum.

There's an article in one of the English language "newspaper" sites today about how the government wants foreigners to register.  And yet, the information on where foreigners CAN actually register in Bangkok is missing.  What one can find online as guidance is contradictory or just plain wrong.  Yes, I know folks with a pink card could register, but that's a minority and registration on the app they is apparently suspended.

 

The Vimut Hospital site has no information.  The Bumrungrad Hospital (where I've been a patient for years) is down, and for weeks it's just said, essentially, "wait."  Calling different hospitals in Bangkok just results in being told "wait" or "we don't know yet."

I'm over 70.  Practically anywhere else in the world I would be in a priority group because priority groups are based on sound public health criteria.  Here, old age or preexisting conditions are trumped by nationality, and for purely political reasons alone.

Who at hospital told you that pls? Does this mean they plan to purchase Moderna?

It probably means nothing?  It appears based upon the comments on the FB page most want Moderna? Anyway I will be back in Los Angeles by the time if they decide to actually buy the vaccine or not????

Went to CM RAM today and got myself on the list.

The said they would use Moderna and that I might receive my first jab in October !!!

 

I am 75 and for more than 20 years a heart condition and almost 15 years their customer.

I submitted my preference to CM Ram online.    Of course I chose Modena.  If CM Ram is telling a 75 year old that he could get Moderna by October then I should get it by December or Jan 2022?? But I should be out quarantine for a second time this year by then.  I should be fully vaccinated with Pfizer by then.
