A team of Muang Pattaya police led by Maj Chainarong Chai-in swooped on a Pattaya restaurant and bar early this morning after reports that Thai and foreign tourists were brazenly breaking Covid rules, reported Daily News.

 

The location was Sky Mountain (Laem Bali Hai or Bali Hai cape) where 24 Thais and 7 foreigners saw their evening come to an end at 12.30 am.

 

Taken into evidence was alcohol, bills and eight shisha pipes. Everyone was taken to Muang Pattaya police station.

There the customers were charged with breaking Covid-19 rules while the owner was also charged with not having a licence, serving shisha and alcohol.

 

Whether the venue will be permanently closed will be up for discussion, said the media.

also wonder if thai would be fined same amount as foreigners ? From memory the 6 people get together got fined 6000 baht each

And everyday we have stories of foreigners, who come from countries with many times higher death rates refusing to follow the laws set up to save Thai lives. 

 

I am assuming the Thais involved were all prostitues, I wouldn't expect them to have any respect for others as they have no respect for themselves.

 

It is time to stop being nice with these foreigners who refuse to follow the rules. If they don't want to listen kick them out and blackban them for life. 

 

 

i would bail out the woman in white but with my luck she is probably a guy.

Just to upset the apple cart.............i was in there 3 nights ago...........was heading there tonight, close call i guess........................beer was served out of plastic jugs.

 

Its actually a restaurant (i ordered food while in there) there were a few thai families with kids eating and this was 10pm...............i guess the same people would still be in there legally even if they did not serve alcohol with the same chances of catching covid?

 

Notice all the markets are still open jowl to cheek

Pattaya aims to open for tourists in October..... what would foreigners think if they read these articles?? That is the place to be?? First phuket, than Samui, and now Pattaya..

There are more Thais spreading the virus  and who don't follow the rules than foreigners... But as always the foreigners are the bad guys here and the Thai people the angels..... The eyes will open soon when they see that there are no more foreigners coming for the next years.. Thai discriminates everyone who is not Thai. examples more than enough

What gets me is that from being in there i know first hand everyone was sat at tables a good 2m apart, nobody was doing a Highland Jig (for Robmuirs benefit) on the tables or dancing in the aisles.......you would have more chance of catching covid in Big C

 

Ive been in a few times over the last few weeks and the cops have gone by in their pickups looked in and left.............................its all about money nothing to do with covid

These are the bunch of xxxhole who are making Thailand into red zones. They can't seem to control themselves not to drink alcohol/party for even one week.

They were "brazenly" breaking the rules due to there being no active policing...only responding to tip-offs. For each of these establishments "caught" there will be dozens more operating as they feel the odds are still in their favour and any risk is worthwhile.

I would never bash a prostitute, but many of them do get bashed, usually by their customers who are often a bit strange or socially awkward.

 

It is reported a lot. Sometimes even by the customers who they married when the reality sets in.

 

Only losers use their services, especially in this country with all the beautiful single and friendly women available. You would have to be desperate to risk HIV with one.

I do pity them though, it is a dirty job.

My comment was simply that you might be expecting a bit much wanting good behaviour from prostitutes, who make their living from bad behaviour.

 

Don't read too much into it. They are what they are.

 

And the story above confirms it, smoking illegal shishas, drinking alcohol in groups during a pandemic and renting out their genitals to the Arab and Indian customers in this case. Not exactly law abiding citizens.

Technically, it was dozens of Thais, two dozen to be precise, and 7 foreigners.

Perfect defense, no licence to serve alcohol so they were supplying on the same basis as a 7-11.  Or maybe no license to sell so they were providing it gratis to their loyal customers.

how much money and who receives said money. Amazing that covid rules have been enacted across the world just so soMe local plod can get a few bucks, hey.

where they were compacted into a room inside a building taken from from outside in the open air where they were arrested - how many rules are being broken in that photo - which was the safer environment to be in ?
