Phuket To Sadao

Featured Replies

Hallo,

I have to drive to Sadao. Can anyone give me some detailled description on the way especially in the Trang area. And some hotel recommendation in Sadao. I know there are busses from Phuket down there but I have to take car. Thanks.

Sounds cold.. but get a map !!! Google maps now covers Thailand very well...

All fairly main roads.. just connecting the dots and following the signs..

It's quite any easy run from Phuket. It's more or less highway 4 all the way.

Trang used to be the main problem because of its poorly signed oneway system but now Trang is bypassed with a very good road.

There have been a fair amount of road works around Krabi but they should be more or less complete now.

So its basically Phuket to Phang Nga turn right towards Krabi, skirt road Krabi towards Trang, on the approach to Trang follow signs for Pratalung and then Hat Yai. As you approach Hat Yai again go straight as if you where heading towards Yala and then the highway splits and Sadao is signed from there.

I've done it many times without any real problems. I would cetainly recommend a good road map just in case you have problems, I got a good one from the book shop on the ground floor of Tesco Lotus. To tell if the map is up to date check to see if the Trang Bypass is on there because it was only recently completed.

Good luck

You can go down to Yooniques (Nai Harn behind the Reggae Bar). The bar belongs to me and my ex-husband. He runs it, his name is Yoon. He's a Sadao native, so he might be able to give you some pointers
