BANGKOK (NNT) - The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health has inspected operations at the Central Vaccination Center located at Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok. The government is now aiming to vaccinate all workers in the educational section in Bangkok and neighboring provinces prior to the 14th June school opening date.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul today visited Bangkok’s Bang Sue Grand Station, the site of the Central Vaccination Center, the largest mass vaccination venue in the country.

The center is run by some 400 health professionals and IT support staff, as well as volunteers. The center has given some 60,000 jabs between 7th June and today.

Before today’s 8 p.m. closing time, the center aims to vaccinate up to 15,000 people.

The government is fast-tracking vaccination of around 45,000 educational professionals in Bangkok and neighboring provinces, with around 33,000 of them given appointments to get their jabs at the central vaccination center.

So far, around 70-80% of educational members of staff have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, with the rest scheduled to get their jabs ahead of Monday’s school opening.

This acceleration of the vaccination timeframe also applies to educational professionals in other provinces, where anyone who opts to take the vaccine will get one before their school’s reopening.

Meanwhile, Social Security vaccinations will continue on Monday after a brief pause. Authorities have denied the planned pause is due to a vaccine shortage.

The Ministry of Public Health has already delivered 210,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine for the Social Security program, with 90,000 more to be sent tomorrow, and the remaining doses gradually delivered until the million doses quota is filled.

What will be next, within 2 months they will be telling us that they are ordering vaccinations for the kids, you know the little ones that are at low risk and highly unlikely of getting sick from Covid, oops wait a minute, I can feel it, someone's going to correct me.

He should be inspecting the stockpiles of AZ flooding off the production line, that would give people more confidence than photo op's to centres to make it look like all it going well.

He also said the third wave would over with, done and finished before the start of May......I have a suspicion he doesn't know what he is doing.

Not in Khon Kaen, they won't!  All my Filipino teacher friends had their appointments cancelled last week because there was insufficient vaccine.  The schools are still opening tomorrow without vaccination!

The further this failure stays away from any vaccines centers, or the vaccine program, the better off the nation will be.

If it were not for his political power, it is likely he would have been fired already. But since merit does not count, he wasn't.

Why does he not take his vaccinated self out to Siam BioScience & ensure that all the promises are at least being worked on & they are working 24 hours a day to produce the vaccine for LOCAL consumption or is any criticism of this Company considered a beheading offence ?

They have failed their own people
