I think they mean all "essential hospitality workers" in Phuket have been vaccinated.

Ahh. Are you robmuir in disguise? Yesterday in another thread, he made the sweeping statement “most” leisure workers in Phuket have had two jabs. But……in today’s Thaiger:

The SHA Plus symbol shows customers that the business has been certified to be adhering to all public health measures set up for Covid-19 safety and that 70% of employees have been fully vaccinated as part of the “Phuket Must Win” vaccination rollout. Businesses that meet the standards but don’t have fully vaccinated employees will only receive the SHA status, but not the Plus.

There are 1,389 businesses, accommodations and other venues that have the SHA certificate currently, and 300 with the Plus designation so far, but those numbers are expected to increase as Phuket’s vaccination programme continues, striving to reach the 70% herd immunity threshold target.”

So only 300 of 1,389 business approved by the SHA as “Covid safe”, can make the claim that more than 70% of employees are fully vaccinated. And how many businesses are not SHA approved at all?

of course, the big hotel groups will have got their employees done, but the restaurants, massage shops, bars without a human resource manager are treated as part of the general population.

in truth, none knows what percentage of the leisure industry in Phuket is vaccinated. The government hasn’t given any clear communication on that, and many other, fronts. All that is provided is ambiguous statements designed to provide maximum vagueness and deniability at a later date.

Called “ChulaCov19”, it is the first vaccine developed in Thailand, but will be the second to be locally made, if approved, after Siam Bioscience’s production of the UK’s AstraZeneca vaccine. Read more: https://bit.ly/3xliEXm

Great only in Thailand, approve after only the second phase trials and skip the third phase, which would normally require 1000's of volunteers:

The first phase involves 72 volunteers. Half are aged 18-55 and half 65-75. Some of them will get 10 micrograms (mcg) of the vaccine, while others will get 25mcg and 50mcg, to determine the most effective dosage. The second phase, involving 150-300 volunteers, will begin in August, if the first phase results are satisfactory.

If both phases of the trial prove high efficacy and safety of the vaccine, the third phase can be skipped and it could be approved for mass production before mid-2022, said Dr. Suttipong.

Virus outbreaks at Thai factories threaten export sector, recovery

A series of coronavirus outbreaks in Thai factories is raising concerns that the export sector could be hit hard, threatening to further undermine an economy as it struggles to recover from the pandemic's crippling blow to the crucial tourism industry.

The virus has swept through over 130 factories, including those supplying international brands, with more than 7,100 cases across 11 provinces, making manufacturing one of the top sources of infections along with prisons and construction camps.

The affected plants are just a fraction of about 63,000 factories in Thailand that employ 3.4 million, government data shows, but officials worry about the impact on exports that have kept the struggling economy moving as income from tourism has collapsed.

Why on earth can the 3rd phase be skipped? I know this government cuts corners and glosses over important details, but now these medical/scientific people are doing it as well?

I wonder if this vaccine will get WHO approval?

Lower deaths again today which can only be good news but is this due to its new deaths from covid policy?

If so then its under counting much like its under counting of road deaths where they only classify a death on the scene and not if they die in hospital later due to the injury.

COVID19 UPDATE on MONDAY: 17 deaths and 3,355 cases (784 from prisons). Full details at 12:30pm

9 June: 2,680 - 35 dead

10 June: 2,310 - 43 dead

11 June: 2,290 - 27 dead

12 June: 3,277 - 29 dead

13 June: 2,804 - 18 dead

14 June: 3,355 - 17 dead <— TODAY

Does anyone know if the reported stats are figures from nationwide or just Bangkok testing ? I hope that there is not a cover up happening  or maybe apathy ?

And due to the new variants as the natural cycle of viruses become less dangerous, I confirm this is good news

ANd what "natural cycle would that be?" Actually, the tendency so far has been for ever more contagious and dangerous variants to emerge and dominate. The delta variant (India) is reckkoned to be both and it is now dominant in the UK. Why won't the same occur in Thailand?
