BANGKOK (NNT) - For the second day today, senior citizens and people with underlying health concerns whose vaccination appointments have been rescheduled, can come to Bang Sue Grand Station to get their jabs, with 2,000 doses available daily for this specific group of recipients.

Many senior citizens and people with underlying health conditions whose vaccination appointments at hospitals were pushed back opted to receive their jabs at Bang Sue Grand Station instead today, starting in the morning.

The vaccination center here now provides 200 per hour extra appointment slots for this group of vaccine recipients, with 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines available for them each day.

However with many of the recipients being elderly, there are shortages of volunteers who can assist vaccine recipients in wheelchairs. Family members accompanying the recipients are therefore allowed to go inside the vaccination area with the recipients.

Some elderly recipients say they aren’t worried about the rescheduling, as they are confident the vaccine supply issue will be sorted out, and said they are getting vaccinated as a responsibility to society and the people around them.

Some accompanying family members have praised the services provided by the staff, but suggest there should be dedicated parking and drop-off areas for the elderly, as well as clearer signage.
