Naew Na reported on the continuing activities of the 191 Thai police in cracking down on illegal gambling during the Euro 2020 football tournament in Europe.

Deputy chief of the RTP and responsible for the cyber police activities Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat gave outline details of a gambling operation being run from two addresses in Phitsanulok in the north of the country.

Raids at the two addresses resulted in an asset seizure of more than 100 million baht.

A pornographic site was offering a link to gambling on the football. The owner of the site is a Thai who is currently living in Japan.

He was using a cloud server and was making hundreds of millions of baht from the illicit operation, said Damrongsak. Investigations continue.

Meanwhile in Bangkok in Soi Premsombat in downtown Din Daeng 191 police raided a two story, two shophouse premises being used for gambling on Euro 2020.

The outside was covered in film to hide what was going on inside.

It had been in operation for six months and had taken in 6 million baht on average a month and 2 million baht in the first full week of the Euros.

Three people running the place were arrested along with 8 gamblers on the premises.

Seventeen computers were taken into evidence along with 78,367 baht in cash.

The gamblers there were issued chits for bets they made via the computers on the premises.

The Euros, delayed by a year, run until the final in London on July 11th.
