Thailand’s cabinet has confirmed that Phuket will reopen to fully vaccinated tourists on July 1^st, under the “Phuket Sandbox” project, as planned. Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, in Surat Thani province, will follow a similar model on July 15^th, said Government spokesperson Anucha Burapachaisri today (Tuesday).

Being in at risk group I feel a bit nervous about this especially as there are still no signs of vaccines and I understand there is little protection against new variants until a few weeks after 2nd dose .

 

I thought one of the conditions of reopening was that 70 % of Samui should be fully vaccinated ... I don't see that this can be possible .

I have been told they are expecting 30,000 doses in the next week or so which should cover us in at risk groups .
