Chonburi Peace Corp investigates claims that Pattaya is a haven for Foreign Criminals.

At Banglamung City Hall, Colonel Padit, Deputy Director of the Chonburi Peace Corp which is a division of the Royal Thai Army who are assigned to Chonburi Province.

To offer security assistance to the Police and conduct their own investigations into criminal activities, chaired this meeting attended by Pattaya, Banglamung and Immigration Police Chiefs to discuss accusations that Pattaya is a haven for foreign criminal elements.

He was told that the problem is far less acute than stated in the national press, however the Peace Corp have been ordered to investigate the claims even though he was informed in the meeting that the majority of foreigners who come to Pattaya on a long term basis to either live or conduct business are law abiding.
