Popular Post webfact
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said today (Thursday) tougher measures are necessary to handle the rising COVID-19 infections and deaths over the past few weeks, as further restrictions proposed today by the Public Health Ministry are to be deliberated by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) which he chairs tomorrow. Currently on home quarantine, the prime minister said, in his Facebook post, that he has been keeping track of the COVID-19 situation in the country with growing concern and has been receiving information from all relevant agencies, so he can assess the situation and select appropriate measures to cope with the pandemic. Failing this, he said, the impacts on the people will be more serious. He has assured the public that, before any restrictive measures are to be rolled out, the government will very carefully consider all the aspects concerned, particularly public safety, even if that means the economy and businesses will be affected. Popular Post smedly
lets have a vote is he a month in front of the curve or is he a month behind the curve as far as effective vaccines are concerned Thailand is about 6 months behind the curve already 11
Popular Post ourmanflint
I am guessing much to the dismay of many here and many many Thai business owners. Seems a lot of people are prepared to gamble with the lives of all the elderly and infirm just so they can carry on selling noodles or drink a beer at some bar or other. Collective responsibility starts at home. Maybe the expats should set an example for once 6 1

Popular Post internationalism
that's over 3 months too late to take preventative measures. songkran, in large, went as planned - with effect, as predicted. Positive is - that the third cause the czar to think outside siam bioscience money box and start talking about the other vaccines. Still, he was shamed by chulabhorn swift decision to execute large emergency purchase of sinopharm. It's already being jabbed, while pfizer, moderna, J&J dates are remote and not known. Popular Post Excel
The problem with introducing any further restrictive measures in Thailand is that they will never be applied to those that are considered "important" , "special", "wealthy" or anyone with any connection to these groups. Therefore if it is a lengthy lockdown say or other tight socially restrictive measures it will be seen as exactly what is is, a prejudiced too late a move affecting millions of normal Thais yet virtually leaving those "privileged" groups to carry on their corrupt and decadent ways virtually unimpeded. 8

It's the lack of concern on provincial travel that has already caused an exodus from the capital out to the provinces and assisted in spreading the virus already. Provincial closures and banning travel except for necessary trips for shopping and appointments is warranted, but then he is to scared to destroy the country further as he has no idea what he is doing already. It's going to be a feces storm no matter what he decides.

Popular Post ChipButty
Can it get any tougher? The people are suffering Ive watched a couple of video's recently and one about suicide rates in Thailand and it's getting out of control it's reached the same level as 97 financial crash The government Hotline 50% of callers dont get through and they only have 20 lines, they only have one psychiatrist per 250k people. Not taking into account the attempted suicides the suicide rate is going up. Some people are not asking for money they need feeding how can you make a packet of Mama last 3 meals? thats what one lady said on the video, On the face of things Phuket doesn't look to bad I have traveled to many places in the past around Thailand and people were suffering then in normal times must be desperate now. 2 1

ThailandRyan
Watching the channel 3 news just now it sounds as if the PM does not want a lockdown at all, and then the very next story was about a 27 week old baby being transported to the hospital because it now has covid, and is out in the provinces. The grandmother who was providing care also has covid, and the family will be checked further and will follow when beds can be found as they apparently have been infected but not tested. The reality of this situation is now one bordering on desperation for many. I do understand the governments position as if they did a true lockdown, in the sense of the word, they would have to supply funds to displaced workers and such.

I started to laugh and when I explained the issues here, risking my phoneline being disconnected, they could not believe that people here are fighting to be vaccinated when in the US they can not get people to come in and get a free vaccination and they have an excess now.
