Are there any wholesalers on Samui or would I have to get them somewhere on the mainland and ship them in?

Thanks,

Joey

Johny B, sorry mate , all we see of you is just questions. How do you expect to build a business here if you don't know anything about the island. Are you just coming over to make a quick buck? Give it a break & come & do some homework yourself. :o

Booo,

Its called research. I'm coming back in July and then I'm hoping to make the "big jump" in Nov-Dec. Asking a forum of well informed, well connected expats seems pretty sensible to me. i think the questions I've asked are pretty focused and to the point, not just some generalized, "When does it rain on Samui" type questions. The info I've gotten has already helped me a bunch and has saved me hours of legwork when I arrive in July.

I live in central US now. Would you like me to start answering questions from other people like me based on 4 weeks of visiting Samui? Booo, if you don't have or know the answer or don't want to share it, then don't respond. The people who have responded, have pointed me in the right direction and to them I'm indebted.

Thanks for the "warm welcome" :o and I'll see you in July :D .

Roo - why do you care? If you don’t like helping out a fellow poster, don’t reply. Are we to assume that only established Samui residents are allowed to seek advice?

What a pathetic waste of time replying to a post with the sole intention of lambasting a guy who knows little about the island. The flow of content here is not policed by you, Roo, so let the guy ask as many questions as he likes without you sticking your bloody nose in. This is no 'club', I am afraid to remind you. It is an open forum embracing all posters, regardless of experience.

I guess I have just acquired another 7 day ban, right?

joeyb. I am afraid I can only think of one wholesaler... though wholesaler may be optimistic on my part; they are more like a retailer, but do offer bulk. Facing Tesco Lotus, 300 yards to the left, a small shop specializing in T-prints. They sell plain T's also.

Another alternative is, believe it or not, Tesco.

The best alternative is BKK. Namely, Pratunam market on Phetburi road or Sam Peng (spelling?) in China Town. Depending on your required amounts, vast bulk would be better sought in BKK. Small bulk, Samui.

Fair enough,I did try to guide you earlier & so did someone else regarding setting up a business. It was suggested to direct some of these inquiries to the business forum. The way I think is with these types of questions ,you will not get the answers you need here, competitors are not going to help & I don't think too many Thai wholesalers read this forum.

Why don't you try & look up the Phone Business Directory in Bangkok on line, that could give you a more satisfactory answer.

I buy my Staff T-shirts from a shop near Big Joe's (in the same shop row at the other end) The quality is excellent, good selection and the price is reght.

Takes a week or two, but worth the wait

The BEST deals you can make for Textile (t-shirts, shirts, skirts, jeans,..):

Samui is not the "better" place for make a business like you need.

Bangkok: ask for Bobee Market for Thai made textile...

ask for Pawrat for Indian made textile (wholesealers)

ask the way of the Laem Chabang" for made in china or made in Bangladesh

or made in Vietnam textile (this is A BIG TIPP but you should find the place by yourself)

Cheers
