At the same time as Anutin is trying to put pressure on AZ  for the 10Million Doses, just to save his own lying A@@

BTW, 10 M doses would be the entire SB production per Month.

AZ will just retaliate with a " Component shortage problem " or something.

They don't have to take the blame for this. They have legally binding contracts with other countries they must honour. There has already been long and hard discussions resulting in AZ increasing the Thailand share to 5 million doese per month. I think AZ will respond openly on this. And then reduce production.

Why take the blame when it's not their fault?

I'm not going to quote figures but recently the intake was cut in half meaning that many are still entering OZ and there are still people leaving like the Queensland Premier who went to Tokyo yesterday to rustle up support for the Olympics and there are others leaving and returning for "essential" business reason or "compassionate" grounds.

I don't think many are interested in junket trips by politicians.

So to put sharp edge on it.

I'm Oz living in Thailand. How long would it take for me to get back home to Oz and return to Thailand, if I started that process today.

I suggest it won't be a straightforward gig.

Some USA guys for example have flown back to states just to obtain vaccination.

Don't think you could say same thing for Australians. Too difficult.

Phuket authorities announced on Monday that only people who have been vaccinated at least two weeks prior will be allowed to enter the province.

Only jabbed, Covid-free people can enter Phuket, authorities say

The order specified that those who have received their first dose of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine can enter the province. However, recipients of Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines should have received both their jabs.

Meanwhile, those who have recovered from a Covid-19 infection less than 90 days ago will have to undergo a PCR or antigen test at least seven days before visiting the province. Tests will also be required for youngsters aged six to 18.

So strange what is happening in Phuket. It’s like the province has declared a UDI or something. Bumbling along as though nothing is happening in the rest of the country. Tone deaf doesn’t begin to describe it.

If there is no lockdown, the country could see 31,997 new cases per day by the end of October, the government said.

With lockdown, cases will hover between 9,018-12,605 pending vaccination. #โควิด19 #โควิด19วันนี้ #Thailand #Covid19

Before October hmm... what they just believe. Maybe 10k case/day in August. And happen right after prediction. Over 30k/day can come before August if they test enough.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s Comprehensive Covid-19 Response Team (CCRT) tested 7,444 people living in 201 communities over Thursday and Friday, BMA’s permanent secretary Silapasuay Raweesangsorn said on Sunday

The team also vaccinated 4,683 people and worked on boosting awareness among community residents, she added.

The BMA has set up 24 community isolation centres, and “plans to set one up in all 50 districts of the capital”, said Silapasuay.

In a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Department of Health, in cooperation with several government, private agencies and CCRT, has been testing seniors, patients with a chronic condition and pregnant women since Thursday (July 15)

Sure it's not easy for some but there are many people coming and from Oz, that's what the hotel quarantine system is for.I know going for a holiday is not allowed but there are many who are travelling for business and compassionate reasons and I was correcting a poster who said "no one" is going to or leaving Oz.It maybe difficult but it can be done.I've even read some posts here that some have left Thailand to Oz and returned.

Foreigners 75yrs or older.

Director Mingkhwan of Bangsue Central Station assured me that foreign residents need to show only their passports. Staff will convert their passport numbers into the 13-digit based nat’l Thai ID.

At this rate of climb this week or just after should get to 500,000 total and in around a couple of wks around 500,000 in 5 months. Prayut must really be looking over his shoulder now. This should never have been allowed to happen and responsibilty must start at the top and then work down. I've always said generals run armies not countries.

There will be plenty of finger pointing going on internally already and when things finally get bad enough these 'Generals' will want to flee from Parliament and hand over the wreckage of the country to anyone else.

As for Generals running Armies; Thailand has almost as many Generals as Massage Girls but in the main they know almost nothing about running a 'proper' Army.   I have a Thai friend who has just retired after 40 years service in the RTAF and he told me that these 'Generals' are only fit to 'run' in the opposite direction should conflict start and that the whole Thai Military is 'unfit for purpose'.

The Thai government are asking for people to reconsider interprovincial travel. Starting tomorrow, authorities will impose stricter regulations at checkpoints. You may be asked for travel documents. For any public transport still running are only allowed to run at 50% capacity.

Is your journey really necessary? For any interprovincial travel through the dark red zones, the public are urged to register in advance for permission to travel. Fill in your details at http://covid-19.in.th which will give you a QR code to show to officials if asked.

For yourself not as big an issue as most (you don't need an exemption to escape Aus). You're main hassle is getting a flight in (business or first class best option to not get bumped) but once here and vaccinated you can just rock up to the airport for your flight out, plenty seats on the way out.

The blame game doesn't work here as it's water off a ducts back. The vaccines are always coming but the only one I see is Sinovac , you know the one that no one wants. The Delta variant is very bad here for the young as 5 students in my area have the virus. And yet the Government still want more tourist. When you work that one out please let me know. Somebody please do the math!

Former Pheu Thai MP Tossaporn Srirak submitted a letter of appeal today to the US Embassy in Bangkok. Tossaporn urged the Biden Administration to donate #COVID19 vaccines to Thailand, particularly those nearing expiration date.
