snoop1130 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Bangkok (NNT) - Thailand’s Department of Disease Control (DDC) has formed a team of "Super Riders" to deliver medical kits to COVID-19 patients, as part of the home isolation program, which allows some patients to recover at home. DDC Director-General Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong said each kit contains paracetamol, green chiretta herbal medicine, a thermometer, an oxygen pulse fingertip oximeter, surgical masks and hand sanitizer, noting that more than 100 kits have been delivered to date. He said the DDC has also asked the Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention to work with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to conduct COVID-19 screening for at-risk groups at Thupatemi Stadium, Rajamangala Stadium and the Army Club. The goal is to test up to 4,000 people per day using antigen test kits, with those testing positive undergoing RT-PCR tests to confirm the results. According to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), the number of patients in home isolation in Bangkok reached almost 100,000 as of August 5th and 232 centers have been set up to look after them. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-08-06 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Crossy Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Shouldn't he have a ...... mask? Some poor sound guy is going to have to change that spit-ball The "Super Riders" will need super k9 control powers if they want to get past our gate.
Scrotobike Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 These are like super heroes on bikes? Fiddling while Rome burns.
mark131v Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Oh dear, a sticking plaster on an arterial bleed...
richard_smith237 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 The vast majority of cases don’t need any care whatsoever… They are asymptomatic! All they need to do is home isolate if they can do so. Not easy for done in communal accommodation, but then they have all been exposed and need to isolate. It is this aspect which needs monitoring. Only those with severe symptoms need hospitalization. For anyone else who’s tested positive, a paracetamol unless symptoms start to get worse. 2
impulse Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 What a bunch of grumps... Vaccinations would be better, but they're not in the cards. Just in a looooong pipeline. Good news: A) people with minor or no symptoms can isolate at home, freeing up beds for urgent needs. B) they don't have to count on family, or go out themselves to buy these supplies. C) the pulse oximeters are a good warning to "get thee to a hospital" D) there's some jobs and income being created for the super riders. Hopefully, they'll expand the program to benefit more people, possibly to include food and water deliveries for shut-ins.
