Same in my village, we have no infections. About 7 km away is a large warehouse which has been turned into a holding station for returnees used by multiple villages. As of yet I have not seen or heard of returnees where I live, perhaps 14 days of isolation is a big turnoff.

The doctors where I am seem to be getting a hold on things. My missus has spoken with our hospital doctor wanting to know the ins and outs of what will happen as we are getting our first shots of AstraZenica today. The doc told her that I as a foreigner will be charged 4,000 Baht but that includes 3 shots, the third shot being a booster, I'm not sure of the time period but the second jab will take place 12 weeks after the first one.

I haven't heard from expatvac so I assume this is due to the Surin government, whatever....a vaccination is a vaccination

Why would the local hospital where you are be charging for the vaccine when here, at least in BKK, it was free with no fees.  Somethings not right in my view, but then I would pay if I was asked to anyway.  Just my view as it appears that like immigration procedures throughout the country the vaccine distribution and fees are pretty much the same then, at least by your account of having to pay.  I have not heard of folks who have been vaccinated with the AZ, like myself, being told they would be needing a booster and being notified of such.

Yes 12 weeks between shots is how it is being done here in BKK as well, my next jab is on the 16th of September. 6 weeks from now

I have read that a booster is slowly being considered in the West as well since the efficacy of the vaccinations appears to fall after about 6 months so maybe the Thai doctors are in front of the curve. Yes, I was disappointed at hearing I would have to pay, I can imagine that the situation in Bangkok has become so desperate that they are doing everything to encourage people to get vaccinated, in America a 100 dollar reward is being considered for being vaccinated, in Germany the vaccinations are tailing off so unvaccinated people are being warned of the uncomfortable social consequences of not being vaccinated, in Isan there is no panic as the infections are very low at the moment (this will change once the Delta variant takes hold) so there is no incentive to offer freebies, whatever, I'm not going to argue about 4,000 Baht = 100 Euros and I consider the booster as a bonus.

I had my first free vaccination on the 5th August, Sinovac - certainly not my choice but available and means I am now in the system, it wil be followed with AZ on 1st Sept. - will bide my time after that and ask around re a second AZ or Pfizer shot once the heat goes off everyone trying to get vaccinated.

Same here, my wife got hold of the wrong end of the stick as usual. It was free, it was sinovac to be followed by Astra on the 6th of September, the 12 week part of her 'report' to me was probably the booster shot. The registration and health check was done efficiently so despite a huge number of people turning up it was pretty fast.

Same here, smooth as a babies bum from start to finish, even though some of my detail had to be manually entered into the system.
