BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand needs a further 1 trillion baht ($29.9 billion) to help support jobs and income losses, its central bank's governor said on Monday, as the country struggles with its biggest COVID-19 outbreak to date.

Corruption watchdog asked to investigate Pfizer vaccinations at Bhumibol Hospital

Thailand’s exports of historically high value in Q22021

BANGKOK (NNT) - The value of Thailand’s exports in the second quarter of 2021 was recorded at 67.8 billion USD - an historically high level. Exports increased 36.2 percent - the most recorded in 44 quarters - from 5.0-percent growth in the previous quarter, according to the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council.

Chonburi Governor orders more Covid-19 related temporary targeted closures: company and dormitories

As many as 3,000 Thai minors catching COVID-19 every day

Between 2,000 and 3,000 under 18 year olds are now getting infected with COVID-19 every day, compared to just 366 per week in the first three months of this year, according to Dr. Somsak Akkasilp, director general of Thailand’s Medical Services Department.

Sandbox Express Bus extended, private vans now available to help tourists get off-island

PHUKET: The ‘Sandbox Express Bus’, which was to cease operations today (Aug 16), has been extended to continue taking Sandbox tourists from Phuket to Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok until at least Aug 30, and Sandbox tourists can now also choose to take a private minivan to the capital, officials confirmed today.

Short on vaccines, Thailand seeks to borrow from Bhutan

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand, a regional manufacturer of AstraZeneca's coronavirus shots, is seeking to borrow 150,000 doses of the same vaccine from the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, an official said on Monday, amid a Thai supply shortage.
