Bladder cancer support services

Featured Replies

A friend of mine will soon be relocating to Chaiyaphum and will require quarterly reviews for bladder cancer. @sheryl can you please advise a hospital / specialist nearby for suitably qualified specialist. Clinical name of cancer is NMIBC.

thankyou

Speaking from personal experience, a bladder review mean to undergo a  cystoscopy and that should be done every 6 months,  A cystoscope is a thin tube with a camera and light on the end. During a cystoscopy, a doctor inserts this tube through your urethra (the tube that carries urine out of your bladder) and into your bladder so they can visualize the inside of your bladder. Magnified images from the camera are displayed on a screen where your doctor can see them to determent if there anything to worry about...

He should attend Khin Kaen University Hospital (Srinagarind).  Go through the "after hours" clinic to directly access a senior doctor - usually starts around 4 PM on weekdays , arrive by 3 PM to register. Also open on at least Saturday mornings.

Will cost a few hundred baht more than the public channel, save a lot of time (though he should still be prepared for waits) and most important get him directly to a senior doc.

Suggest he request one of these doctors:

Ukrit Rompsaithong

Pakorn Kiatsopit

Wichien Sirithanaphol
