BANGKOK (NNT) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) today kicks off “Thailand Focus 2021: Thriving in the Next Normal”, a conference designed to present the resilience and potential of the Thai capital market to foreign institutional investors, presided over by Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, with highlights of Thailand’s economic stimulus packages.

Significantly, top executives of 102 Thai listed companies will provide valuable market insights to 192 institutional investors from 105 financial institutions worldwide, ensuring the Thai capital market is on the radar of foreign investors continuously.

SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai, said today at the opening session of the “Thailand Focus 2021: Thriving in the Next Normal” conference, being held August 25 – 27, that Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith would deliver a keynote speech on “Shaping Thailand’s Readiness for Post COVID-19 Economic Opportunities” to build confidence among institutional investors globally about Thailand’s new economic landscape and post-pandemic readiness.

Thailand has started to see continuing recovery with export growth at approximately 16 percent during the first half of this year. In addition, Thailand’s medium and long-term economic recovery plan and stimulus measures will be instrumental in accelerating growth under the strategic plan of a sustainable economic model in 2022.

“Despite slow global economic growth, economic activities need to go on continuously to enhance the standard of living and well-being of people. Sooner or later companies will be capable of adapting to changes in the new normal with resilience and progress.

This year, the Thailand Focus conference has attracted 192 institutional investors from 105 financial institutions globally, who will engage in virtual presentations given by representatives of both the public and private sectors, about strategic management and the adaptability of Thai businesses for future competitive advantage.

A Q&A session will enable investors to communicate directly with high-ranking executives of 102 listed firms. Conference participants are mainly from Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and ASEAN peers such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

The conference reflects Thailand’s attractiveness to institutional investors, while the virtual format also enables us to reach out to a new group of investors more easily,” added Pakorn.

The “Thailand Focus 2021: Thriving in the Next Normal” conference is taking place from August 25th to 27th, 2021, as an innovative channel to connect institutional investors across the globe to investment opportunities. For more information, please visit www.set.or.th/thailandfocus.
