Look kids! Uncle is all dressed up for his new job as a door opener at the Oriental Hotel.

He's a graduate of a Military Academy, general, a politician, a PM, now a draughtsman. Well you did say he is a door opener. ????

He's a General masquerading as a politician.

Is that better or worse than a politician masquerading as a general, but as this is Thailand - doesn't matter either way.

Basically every Thai I know regardless of age and wealth do not want him.

It’s not just youth or students or middle lower class etc…this guy ain’t popular nor is the current system.

Most very firm on their opinion much to my surprise.

Can’t see anything changing as those in power incl military have too much to lo$e

Someone pays the wages, and without someone he could not survive, which is diabolical, someone does not care if Thailand self destructs, just the Joe Ferrari episode is a major disgrace, how on earth the media never published any news of his stable of cars and property, is just beyond thought.

How Thailand has become a fiasco, with rich hotels grabbing at sandbox fools, overcharging for swab tests, people being made to go into MIQ as someone else on the plane had covid, and to top it off charged exorbitant fees.

No one will travel to Thailand soon, it's a one way trip as most countries won't let you back without huge MIQ costs.

The vaccination program  is a theatre of fools, conducting a corrupt orchestra.

I gave my Thai mother in law a calendar when I returned back to NZ just before lock down  Jan,2020, I can not tell you what she did to it.

It looks like a similar situation starting to develop in BK, like the protests that saw buildings set alight, very sad, but someone must be pleased , or sooner or later they will have to change someone.

Politicians  masquerade as Politicians anyway, elected ,self appointed, or bought the ticket.

Few act in the interests of their function, they follow the Party dictate.

I seem to recall that the country voted this Government into power. Now they complain? It begins and ends at the ballot box. Prayut, Biden......... As my mother used say ...... be careful what you wish for .... you might just get it.

As much as we want to believe, democracy isn't for everyone. Maybe they should give the monarchy another chance to rule, they are making the money so they may as well work for it, and then this clown parade can finally end. My wife is for democracy in principal and practice, but she told me Thailand should be communist. I asked if she meant socialist but she didn't answer. I personally feel Thailand's foray in democracy has facilitated mass corruption and is irredeemable. They were ruled for a millenia and f**ked up the transition, so why not backtrack and reinstate the monarchy? As I said, they are making the money already with 0 work or responsibility, add that to politicians' corruption and we can see why there is no middle class and not enough money to go around. Of course, that's assuming the monarchy can set things right and not take it as free license to double up. What a mess, I'm so happy to be an observer and not a citizen

Thank you, I learn't something new

"Learned" is a preference for me.

"Learnt" (no apostrophe, as it is not a contraction of anything, if you have a British English preference)

I mention this not to become part of the grammar police but simply for the guidance of those who use ASEAN for educational purposes.

Yes indeed and when I used to live in Thailand, I still remember the cashier at the local PEA (Provincial Electricity Authority) office near Khon Kaen, sitting in her light brown military style uniform with medal ribbons, epaulettes and other regalia to collect my cash for my electricity bill!! It was the same at the PWA (Provincial Water Authority). In my opinion, quite ridiculous but it is their culture and way of life.
