BANGKOK (NNT) - A new campaign has been introduced to give local entrepreneurs a boost in the booming e-commerce sector. The Department of Business Development is now providing workshops and a new online marketplace for OTOP products, helping local businesses to gain more income from online sales.

The Department of Business Development (DBD) has launched a campaign promoting online sales and marketing of selected OTOP products from local entrepreneurs.

The DBD Deputy Director General Pattamavadee Boonyobhas, said today that the department has joined forces with 10 government agencies and private companies to provide workshops for local entrepreneurs, helping them gain professional e-commerce skills.

The workshops in this campaign include product photography, presentation techniques, and online marketing strategies.

With some 569 local entrepreneurs now selling their items online, the DBD has debuted an online marketplace at www.otopsmart.com, featuring 1,000 OTOP products selected on their quality.

The campaign is also supported by leading e-commerce platforms Lazada and Shopee, providing discount vouchers on purchases and delivery fees.

The website now has a promotional campaign, where customers receive entry in a lucky draw for every 100 baht spent on purchases, with 100,000 baht’s worth of prizes on offer. The promotion is available from now until 10th September.
